What a joke. The Republicans think they are so clever and the women with the angry "I am woman, see me roar" syndrome is going to prove them right. Sad.
Yeah, this a joke, they didnt even mention her in the beginning for the VP nomination, I just want this election to be over.
I was thinking the exact same thing as I watched her make her speech this morning. I was like, it's going to be one hell of an interest race for the white house. She and he don't even go together very well, it was obviously a ploy for the disgruntled female vote. I gotta say, I kind of like ole girl, but I don't know if she was his best choice for a vice president. I don;t think he made this decision as it relates to who he might have to have standing beside him for the next four years if he wins.
I closing, I will say this. We know one of two things will happen regardly after all is sad and done. America will either have it's first female vice-president or it's first black president. It's gonna be monumental!
Funny how dems have all these pure motives, and Republicans are just desperate.
Learn a little about this woman before you dismiss her. She's pretty impressive
Judy, I am not a Dem. I am a Rebublican who will soon be an Independent. If you think she is a good pick, then clutch your pearls.
Unfortunately the motives behind this move is what calls the validity of her being picked into question, not her per say. I do read so I am aware of Mrs. Palin's background. But to have one of the first things out of her mouth be Hillary's campaign and getting the "18 million votes", speaks for itself.
Yeah girl we see what you're all about. Is that all you bring to the table, your estrogen????
Missrook, I concur. It is the motive behind McCain's choice that makes his choice questionable and far from “brilliant.” Heck, Ray Charles can see what this is all about. Some folks are overestimating the “white women” vote. McCain better be careful that he does not alienate his white male support. He still needs them too in order to win.
Attorneymom, Sorry for mischaracterizing your political beliefs. I'm new to your blog and was just looking at what's been posted lately.
Of course part of the reason for the choice is going after Hillary supporters, but this also energizes the conservative base of the party which thus far has been less than enthusiastic about McCain's candidacy.
She does bring more than estrogen.
Peace y'all.
Its hardly that fabulous. Its not whether he was smart enough to do it, just if he had the guts to do it. I call this Political Science 101, nothing special until media et al make it so by drooling over it.
She's been in office about what? 20 months? Even a governor with executive experience its not all that much.
Its transparent and and pathetic from a man who said he would rather lose an election than lose a war.
What is even more pathetic is that he touts foreign policy experience as key and criticizes Obama heavily for his lack of it. So a relatively new governor has more foreign policy experience than a senator who sits on the Foreign Relations Committee? Mmmm hmmmm, yeah.
If the majority of Hillary followers aren't that bitter and they are a small faction in relation to the overall electorate then what will this do?
Its tokenism and that's pretty damn disrespectful too.
A heartbeat away from the presidency. So he believes she is the best person in America to run this country second to him?
And I know people bring it up all the time but its not crazy to think the next president could get to Supreme Court appointees. Bader-Ginsburg is 75. Stevens is 88. Roberts and Alito are the only ones under 60, most of the others are over 65.
Fine, he did it. But its not some political science amazing feat. For me, its ideology before race and its ideology before gender.
@Judy, no problem. I want you to be free to express yourself on this blog. I just wanted to let you know about my background.
@Symphony writes, "Its tokenism and that's pretty damn disrespectful too."
You nailed with your entire comment. Bravo. I agree with you 100%.
@Missrook and Mizzdallas, I am still laughing. It is a joke and sad at the same time. It is disrespectful to Hillary supporters. It shows that McCain's camp doesn't think it takes much to win their votes.
@One's man, it is going to be a very interesting race to the white house.
It's cynical, it's calculated....it's POLITICS.
Yes, it's a choice designed to attempt to woo disaffected female voters from the Obama tally.
That's politics.
Obama picked Biden because he brought experience and stability to that ticket, so McCain picked Palin who brings youth and might attract some women.
Why do people expect anything less?
These elections are pretty much all show! Both Parties are doing corporate America's business....and that's probably, at least generally, for the best! No corporations = no jobs = no prosperity.
Opponents of McCain's should revel in the fact that this choice takes away one of his big weapons he had - experience (political and foreign-policy wise) over Obama.
Of course assailing Palin for the same things, only highlights Obama's weaknesses in those areas even more.
There's a silver lining for the Obama team in this pick....it takes "experience" off the table as an issue.
Sexy Sarah Palin and Sarah-The Grandmother are some of my opinions about this whole thing. An ethics committee launched an investigation about her misconduct as Governor of Alaska on Aug. 25th and McCain names her his running mate on Aug. 29th....this is ridiculous
Rumors have grown like an uncontainable wildfire overnight as to whether Gov. Palin is Trig's biological mother or grandmother. Watch this video filmed on 2/20/08 of the governor "hiking" to work. Trig was born less than 2 months later. Governor Palin's a liar
Hey, blog queen, thanks for the update. I learned of this potential scandal on villager's twitter. Gov. Parlin and her husband has released a statement confirming that their daughter is currently pregnant.
I am done with this story. I cannot wait until this election is over.
